{"id":12435,"date":"2026-08-19T12:43:40","date_gmt":"2026-08-19T09:43:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hazira.org.il\/?post_type=repertoire&#038;p=12435"},"modified":"2026-08-19T12:45:34","modified_gmt":"2026-08-19T09:45:34","slug":"tohu","status":"publish","type":"repertoire","link":"https:\/\/hazira.org.il\/en\/repertoires\/tohu\/","title":{"rendered":"TOHU"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Eynav Rosolio was invited to undertake a research process at Hazira, together with collaborating artists Ofer Laufer, Niv Gafni, and Yasmin Steinmetz, as a continuation of Nature of the Beast, the work they created in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>TOHU is an interdisciplinary dance performance whose artistic language is grounded in the intensive interplay of choreography, sculpture, light, and sound. The work unfolds as a visual concert, moving through a circular dramaturgy of dissonance and respite, density and stillness, excess and release.<br>TOHU seeks to identify orders, rhythms, and structures within chaotic unfolding \u2013 to carve out moments of respite from sonic, visual, and emotional excess through a personal interpretation of ancient rituals centered on demonstrations of power and noise, alongside local movement structures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>The concepts of chaos, excess, violence, glare, and silence served as the starting point for the process. In the radiant and blinding light of reality, the ideas from which the work emerged continued to accumulate and take on private, public, concrete, and aesthetic meanings. This current chapter positions the limits of one\u2019s capacity to contain as its point of origin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"tw-target-text\">Presented as part of the<a href=\"https:\/\/diverfestival.com\/en\/\"> 2026 &#8220;Diver&#8221; Festival<\/a> at HaZira.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eynav Rosolio is a visual theatre director and performer. Her work constructs synthetic environments for listening and observing different human states of matter, using light, sound, objects, and the body. Her practice explores corporeal identity and nostalgia as themes through which she responds to her local context.<br>Her works have been presented at Hazira (Jerusalem), DAS (Bologna), Catalysi Festival (Cesena), Contemporary Venice 2016 (Venice), Kelim Festival (Bat Yam), Neve Schechter Gallery, and Maya Gallery (Tel Aviv). As a performer, she has collaborated with various directors and choreographers, including Francesca Siracusa, Guy Gutman, Galit Criden, Claudia Castellucci, Chiara Guidi, and Noa Itzhaki.<br>Graduate of Scuola Coni\u00e0 and the Istituto di Ricerca di Arte Applicata at Societas Raffaello Sanzio (Cesena), as well as the School of Visual Theatre in Jerusalem.
