The solo exhibition by multi-disciplinary artist Niv Gafni was specifically created for Hazira’s main theatre hall. It consists of two groups of kinetic sculptures that tell a wondrous story about the connection between humans and the world around them. Under the hall’s ceiling, which transforms into infinite skies with the help of unique lighting, a post-human environment is formed — a realm buzzing with activity that constantly maintains a tension between the natural and the artificial.

Niv Gafni (1991), is a sculptor, composer and sound artist. Currently lives in Jerusalem and has an artist studio in Art Cube Artists’ Studios Jerusalem. Gafni graduated with honors New Music studies at Musrara Naggar School of Art, Jerusalem (2018).
Gafni works across diverse mediums such as sound, electronics, programming, mechanics, wood, metal, and ready-made. His works often echo our not-only-conscious connection with the environment and the not-only-human world.
Gafni deals with installations and pseudo-authentic environments which encourage listening and observation as a gateway for an encounter with deep, subconscious inherited elements in humans.
These environments do not necessarily emphasize on the objects themselves nor the subject-object relationship.Often the highlight is on objects as a complex, in the air that is between things, over time and on transfiguration.
Gafni has exhibited in festivals and exhibitions, such as solo and duel exhibitions at Mamuta Art and Research Center, Gram Gallery, and the Mid-Autumn Festival. He participated in group exhibitions such as at the Contemporary Art Gallery of Arad, Edmond de Rothschild Center, Art Cube Artists’ Studios Jerusalem, New Teddy Gallery, Fridge Gallery, Musrara Gallery, “Love Art Make Art” Festivals, Audio-Visual Festival in Corfu, Greece, and more.
Gafni also Performed on various stages in Israel, designed sound for theaters and for artworks.
He received a number of grants of Mifal Hapayis Council of Culture and Arts as an individual and as a collective member, the Mayor’s award for excellence in his studies and Meitar scholarships for outstanding students.
