WACKELKONTAKT

Between a band, an art collective and an institute for multi-sensory experiences, WACKELKONTAKT was founded in 2017 by Marco Milevski, Tomer Damsky, and Eyal Lally Bitton and has since been active in the local and international scene. Smoky clubs, sparkling galleries, theater stages, recording studios, beds one can’t get out of, rivers, and forests are only a few of the creation spaces of the project, which constantly reinvents itself to explore the power structures between artist, audience, and space and between the senses and the mind. WK works on an ever-expanding scale of media, including electronic and acoustic music, space and object design, video and lighting, drawing from the worlds of pop, experimental cinema, the contemporary electronics scene, and ancient poetic and musical traditions.

Among their activities, in 2019 WK presented a groundbreaking performance at the Acco Festival of Alternative Theater, in 2020 they released an acclaimed record on the Barcelona-based Magia Roja label, in 2021 premiered a video in the London-based FACT magazine, in 2022 they presented site-specific performances at the Tower of David Museum and the Museum of Bat-Yam, and in 2023 staged a trilogy of audio-visual shows in HaZira. WK performed in clubs and festivals in Berlin, Munich, Copenhagen, Rome, Milan, Prague, Zurich, Belgrade, Sofia, Toulouse, Marseille, San Sebastian, Barcelona, and more.

In addition to their work as a band, WK members are also the founders of Excessive collective, which supports and collaborates with artists in the fields of dance, theater, music and visual arts, and provides services of production, sound and lighting design, content writing, and techno-artistic solutions. Since 2019, Excessive has maintained a profound techno-poetic partnership with HaZira.
