“All about eve” is a collaboration between director Ariel Efraim Ashbel, performer Efrat Aviv and light artist Omer Sheizaf.
In a space which resembles a combination of a gym, a children’s playground and a torture chamber, a performer is negotiating different ideas of performing, ranging from the entertaining to the sculptural, activating the space being activated by it at the same time.
Inspired by the legendary Bette Davis, this stuntwoman bride excessively accesses performativity from different entry and exit points.
Set to the trance-infusing music of producer/artist/musician Nkisi, the piece is a celebration of the myriad of reverberant possibilities that open up when the space is more than a place and the body is both more and less than a receptor for a “soul”, a “personality” or a “character”.
